Achievements Coup de pouce humanitaire (Malawi)

Coup de Pouce Humanitaire is a Paris-based association that partners with trusted organizations to support long-term initiatives in Africa, Asia, and South America, focusing on healthcare, education, and social services.

How it works:

  • Teams of about 10 volunteers travel for 15-day missions to build or renovate schools, hospitals, and social centers.
  • Around 12 missions per year, split into two annual campaigns.

Current Mission:

  • Goal: Build a kitchen for children at the Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi.
  • Context: Originally designed for 10,000–12,000 people, Dzaleka now hosts over 52,000 refugees (mainly from DRC, Burundi, Rwanda).
  • The selected school complex already serves 500 children from the camp.

What has been financed for this project?

Each volunteer fully funds their own travel expenses. However, additional financial support is needed to cover the cost of hiring local workers, who supervise and assist with the construction during the mission, as well as to purchase tools and building materials.

Our stories with the association

🌍 As a volunteer and proud member of Helping Hands, I joined a 15-day mission at the Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi.
🏗️ Together with local builders from the camp, we successfully constructed the framework for a new canteen for the youngest children.

🤝 Beyond building, this mission created a meaningful exchange:

  • 👋 We engaged with refugees
  • 💼 Offered employment opportunities
  • ❤️ Contributed to the local community and fostered solidarity

Every brick laid was a step toward hope! 💙
