Achievements of Go Purple!

Helping Hands has been supporting Go Purple! since 2021.

Go Purple! was born as a team of 3 running friends who have been participating in different sportive events together, running in purple, the color of Laurette Fugain association, to support charity causes. Go Purple! key values are solidarity, sports, ecology, help and collaboration.

Everything started running the St Tropez Marathon together. The 3 friends thought : “Why not doing another challenge?”. That’s when they decided to create Go Purple! and participate in the Raid des Etoiles du Verdon in June 2021, flying the association’s colors. It was a fantastic experience with 4 days of intense sportive effort, combining running, biking, canoe and orientation race. The Raid supported the Association Petits Princes and helped raise 33,175 euros the cause.

Over the following years, they participated in several sportive events under Go Purple’s banner, such as the Marathon de Paris and the Marathon du Var Provence verte (Bike & Run). They also joined the Raid Defi d’Elles in May 2023. The Raid supported the association Keep a Breast against breast cancer.

In January 2024, they rallied their friends and family (around 20 people) to participate in the 4th Solidarity Training “La course d’orientation pour Paloma”.

Later in 2024, a 4th adventurer joined the Go Purple! team and they all participated in the semi-marathon Provence Verte in May 2024 and in the Raid Defi d’Elles in October 2024.

Throughout the month of June 2024, they also ran, cycled and swam as part of the “Eclats de Juin” challenge for “Les Invincibles all united”, which was able to donate 11,933€ to the ARSLA association.

Through these sportive events, Go Purple! raised money to contribute to :

Furthermore, Go Purple! raise awareness on disabilities, leukemia, blood donation & bone marrow transplant while participating in the sportive events.

The Causes Go Purple! Stands Beside

Laurette Fugain Association

Leukemia is the most common cancer in children. Every day, 10,000 blood bags are needed, and 2,000 patients remain on waiting lists for a bone marrow transplant. The Laurette Fugain Association supports essential medical research, promotes donation, and offers valuable assistance to families of sick children.
Running in purple is Go Purple! way to carry their message forward, to raise awareness, encourage blood and marrow donations, and inspire more people to become donors.

Princesse Paloma Association

In 2023, Go Purple! took part in a trail run organized by coach Olivier Juillan to support the Princesse Paloma Association. During this event, we met Gilles, whose daughter Paloma was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type II, a rare genetic disease requiring ongoing treatment. Her story deeply moved us, and we chose to contribute. The Princesse Paloma Association funds research on rare genetic diseases and provides support to children who face long hospital stays, along with their families. Its work brings hope, resources, and comfort to those navigating these difficult journeys.

ARSLA

The members of the association were personally confronted with ALS when a friend was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease (Maladie de Charcot). Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease that affects motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. As these neurons stop transmitting movement signals, patients progressively lose the ability to speak, swallow, and control their muscles. This impair the use of their hands, legs, and eventually their everyday mobility.
Today, ARSLA supports more than 35,000 patients and their families and has contributed to over 210 basic and clinical research projects, giving strength, guidance, and crucial scientific resources to fight this devastating illness.

Our stories with the association

Thanks to your efforts, we’ve directly supported Laurette FugainPrincesse Paloma, and ARSLA. Together, we’re promoting inclusion, raising funds for great causes, and showing that every step counts.
